With development of our economical, the chemical industry lead to serious pollution of our environment. The environmental problems have threatened survival of the human. Consequently, today’s chemical research should be directed towrd the development of green. C-N coupling reaction is an important part of organic chemistry. It is greatyly applied in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. Conventional C-N coupling reaction requires transition metal catalysts, and harsh conditions to complete and requires a lot of organic ligands. It is limited operation and applications. Therefore, the choice of catalyst is very important.Copper as a low toxicity and low-cost transition metal, in the area of catalyzed C-N coupling reaction, not only has economic advantages, but also in line with the characteristics of green chemistry, because it can reduce or even avoid organic ligands in the synthesis. Therefore, cuprous oxide with different morphologies were prepared and used as catalyst in the same C-N catalyzed coupling reaction to compare the catalytic efficiencies. The main research progresses of this thesis are shown as follow:1. Cuprous oxide in industry for the preprtion method are reviewed, introduced the andvantages and disadadvantages of the method, and on the nature and using of cuprous oxide were summarized.2. The cuprous oxide with6faces,8faces,12faces,18faces,26faces and SOfaces were synthesis with a simple liquid-phase method which were characteristic by X-ray diffractometry (XRD)and field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM). The characterization results showed that the size of polyhedral are uniform and the morphology are regular, the particle size is about1-3microns.3. Different activities of these different cuprous oxide as catalyst in the reaction of bromobenzene and imidazole. The purpose is to compared the catalytic of different crystal surfaces. However, due to the more limit of the reactoin, the result of experiments can not serve as a catalyst standards to determine the differences between different crystal planes, but which later provided the basis for similar studies.
