Sodium acetate, an important raw material in many aspects oforganic synthesis, the Photography drugs,pharmaceuticals, printing anddyeing mordant, buffer, chemical reagent, meat preservation, pigments,tanning etc and has a certain market potential. The goods of Sodiumacetate generally contain three crystal waters. The aqueous solution isgenerally weakly alkaline,The crystal of color is white or light yellow. Atpresent intermittently stirred tank vacuum evaporation crystallzation ismostly used to produce sodium acetate. On the thermodynamic andkinetic aspects of sodium acetate crystals has little research. Thereforethere is a system of study for sodium acetate in this article.Experiments using the balance method for the determination of thesolubility of sodium acetate in water at different temperatures, andsolid-liquid equilibrium empirical equation fitted the solubility equationof sodium acetate in water at different temperatures: At the different temperature the metastable zone width of sodiumacetate was measured by the Laser method and the influencers ofmetastable zone width were studied. The metastable zone was slightnarrowing with the stirring rate became faster, the temperature becamehigher,was obviously widen with the coolling rate became faster. Theexperiment also measured the induction of sodium acetate crystallizationin water and discusses the degree of supersaturation on the inductionperiod, The results showed that: the saturation ratio, the shorter theinduction period.The crystallization kinetics is the basis of crystallization operat-ion and mold design to enlarge. The kinetic experiments were usedintermittent dynamic method and continuous stable method to dete-rmine, considering size independent and size dependent, Establish so-dium acetate crystallization kinetics model and the model parameter-rs are analyzed.And discussed the temperature,suspension density,su-persaturation, crystal growth rate and nucleation rate in the crystalli-zation process of sodium acetate. Studied the thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of sodium acetatecrystal to get nucleation and growth kinetic data by experiment.It can beused as the basis for the design and operation of the crystallizer.This canmake industrial crystallizer design and operation to not only meet theproduct yieldquality requirements, but also to obtain the desired particlesize of crystal products.
