Gelatin is used in more and more fields because of its many excellent physical and chemical performances, but the pollution problem of wastewater from gelatin plant is serious.Manufacturing of gelatin needs large amounts of water, it is difficult to dispose because there are high contents of organics and alkalines. Though there are many successful examples overseas, it is impossible for domestic corporations to use for reference for its huge cost and different situations. So, looking for effective methods suitable for the situation of our country to dispose waste water from gelatin plant is very important to inland enterprises, and it is also a research direction for environmental workers.The article firstly reviews the general situation of waste water treatment of gelatin plant, then enters the experimental study of waste water combined with the actual situation of a gelatin plant located in Guang dong province..Such flocculants as PAC, PFS and FeSO4are used to treat with alkaline waste water from gelatin plant mentioned above in different way.. The main experimental results includes:PFS on the COD removal effect is much better than the other two kinds of medicament. the right dosage is1g/L. Through the investigation of different pH value, gelatin wastewater biological treatment system’s sludge calcium deposition than organic ratio, SVI, COD removal effect and removal effect of ammonia and nitrogen changes, analysis of pH value on gelatin wastewater biological treatment system effects. The results show that, pH has the important influence on calcium deposition, through calcium deposition than pH further on organic sludge ratio, SVI, the removal efficiency of COD and ammonia nitrogen removal effect. Finally it studies the effect of calcium deposition on biochemical system and put forward the solution.And we have designed a sewage treatment plant with the daily processing capacity of7000tons.After commissioning, the water quality reaches the emission standard, and biological treatment system can run stably for long term.
