The Structure Optimization Of PCR-80Cold Rolling Machine

Cold ring rolling is a high efficient rolling method for manufacturing seamlessrings,which is a progressive partial plastial forming technology. The diameter ofthe ring is increasing as the cross-section decreasing in ring rolling. Ring rolling isof many characteristics such as saving forming force and production cost,increasing utilization ratio of energy and material, rising productivity, wideningprocessing rang of ring products etc, ang so widely employed in many industrialdomains of machinery, metallurgy, chemical engineer, energy sources, andaeronautics etc. Ring rolling mill is the core equipment of the rolling technology.The study in the dissertation briefly introduces the classifications and theadvances of ring rolling mills and has taken an insight into the cold ring rolling millwith type of PCR-80. The structure and capability of the cold ring rolling mill withtype of PCR-80are expounded and the3D CAD model of the spindle assembly,mandrel, guide roll, main block, feed system, main drive, manipulator, machin toolbed, and the whole machine tool are proposed. The kinematical model isestablished on the base of3D CAD models and ADAMS which is one of the virtualprototyping technology soft wares, the kinematical system model is simulated andthe working course of the cold ring rolling is reppeared. The regulations ofdisplacement, velocity and acceleration of the main components are drawn by theanalysis of the kinematics. The mechanical models of the components----the millhousing and ball screw are proposed based on the parameter geometrical models ofthe housing and the ball screw.According to the finite element analysis, the maximum stresses of the housingand the ball screw are less then the allowable stresses. So the stiffness should befocused. Through optimization, the weight of the mill housing lessned, the stiffnessof the housing incread. The material are used more sufficiently, and the precision ofthe ring is also improved. The study of the cold ring rolling mill with type ofPCR-80in the production of new types of cold ring rolling mills.
