Aerated Grit Chamber is one of the necessary pre-processing structures in thesewage treatment plant, mainly used to remove particulate matter in the sewage,and stabilize the water to reduce the hydraulic loading of the follow-up processingunit.In order to understand the works of the aerated grit chamber, improve theirsand removing efficiency, and work out a practical evaluation of the grit chamberremoval efficiency test method. Produced by hydraulic similarity principle physicalmodel of the Aerated Grit Chamber, experimental study using scale model of theaerated grit chamber, done the site sand content of the raw water test, and sandamount of statistics for aerated grit chamber, were tested Zhu Zhuan jin aerated gritchamber and out of the water, sand content aggregate gradingļ¼Œand test resultsapplied to the actual operations of the waterworks, to improve sand removingefficiency.In the small scale simulation of the aerated grit chamber, experimental studydue to small field trials adjustable factors, the main job of the following factorsaffect the removal efficiency of aerated grit chamber is:(1) Hydraulic retentiontime;(2) The size of the aeration intensity;(3) With or without baffle. The resultsshow that: Hydraulic retention time had a greater influence to the sand removeeffect of aerated grit chamber, is essentially a linear relationship; there is anoptimum operating point between aeration intensity and hydraulic retention time.We know that the sand particle size gradation of the original water remained ina stable range be the tests and statistics of the amount of sand on-site raw water,therefore statistics through the sand on the sand-water separator, obtain theproportion of sand of different size sand, based on a similar principle can beobtained the Zhu Zhuan Jin aerated grit chamber sand removing efficiency,experimental results obtained: grit removal efficiency was about40%below0.2mm,0.2-0.3mm sand removal rate of62%. Existing aerated grit chamber system forthe fine sand removal rate is low, for0.3mm or more sand has good removalefficiency. Finally, according to the operation mechanism of the Aerated Grit bottom andsome phenomena of the test, do analysis and interpretation for Zhu Zhuan Jinaerated grit chamber front-end of existing stage to mention the sand pump oftenblocked. And make recommendations, Deepen the understanding of the aerated gritchamber.
