Research On Mould Width Adjustion Control System

MWA(Mould Width Adjustion) is important technique which iswidely used in continuous cast machine.To cut down the cast time whenthere is different slab manufacuture requirement,we develop the MWAtechnology with which we could change the mould width duringcasting.With the MWA technology,we could have different style slabsduring the same cast,greatly improved the working efficiency.The mould width adjusting control system is introduced in thisarticle according to the manufacturing requirement, composition of theelectrical system and realization of the optimized curve function are alsostated.The system basic design include:Programmable logic controlsystem,servo-motor control system,Human-Machine Interface,Profibusfield Bus, we would recount all the parts of the control system in thearticle.Also we have developed a totally new MWA test software.After therebuilt for the old type mould, the advanced servo-motored is adoptedwhich ensure the accuracy of the control system in±0.2mm in stable manufacture condition. The application of the newly built MWA controlsystem raised the flexibility and the job rate, ensure the steadymanufacture for the slab caster machine.
