Cast steel is smelted by the scrap steel, belong to the degeneration materials, highmanganese steel include manganese in1.1%-1.4%and impact resistance to wear, morefor mining machinery, engineering machinery of wear parts. Low alloy steel casting havethe main elements of chromium and nickel, are used in the chemical industry body, pumpand steam turbine shell of hydropower station. From the cast steel smelting, casting, duringthe formation of castings, the liquid steel dramatically, inclusion form, distribution, as-caststructure, alloy elements such as the uniformity of the finished product quality is the key ofcastings, however the traces of the rare earth to the cast steel of these aspects are verysensitive, so study the mechanism of cast steel in rare earth, thus realize quantitativecontrol, to improve the performance of the castings is important.This paper used high manganese cast steel in rare earth and20MnCrNiMoA cast steelrare earth smelted from laboratory vacuum induction furnace.By observe cast steel indifferent content rare earth, the size, shape, species, distribution of inclusion, usemicroscope, SEM and EDS, were studied, and a comparative analysis the high manganesesteel casting in different content of rare earth and20MnCrNiMoA cast steel micstructureand inclusions.The results show that:the high manganese steel in different content rare earth grainsize differ not quite, when rare earth amount is0.052%, the grain size is relatively uniform;High manganese steel with three different content rare earth has inclusions in the formrounder, a size in1.7-16μm, their hardness value difference and mechanical properties,including rare earth amount to impact toughness effect is more apparent, when rare earthcontent is0.052%, the impact toughness values in150J/cm2.20MnCrNi2MoA cast steel indifferent rare earth is microstructure are different, when rare earth amount in0.06%,austenitic grain size is63μm, hardness value is43HRC, rare earth inclusion are rounder,size is1.4-2.8μm.
