Study On The Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons And Its Ecological Risk In Sediments From The Coast Of Guangdong Province

In recent years, with the growth of the global economy, the environmentof the global marine is destructed, thus the persistent organic pollutants (POPs,Persistent Organic Pollutents) of the marine environment attached the scholars topay close attention to study, and has been carried out in a typical coastal andestuarine.In recent years, due to geographical conditions and rich marine resources,the economic in Guangdong Province, especially in coastal areas, developed rapidly,has become the hot spots of economic development in Guangdong Province. Butalong with economic development and continuous expansion of agricultural andindustrial scale, the marine environment of these coastal areas has also beenpolluted seriously. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is a class of persistentorganic pollutants which is hazards to environment and biologics. The study ofPAHs in Guangdong Province is mainly concentrated in the waters of the PearlRiver Delta region and part of the offshore Gulf. To this end, this paper focus ondistribution of PAHs in the Gulf and coastal waters of Guangdong Province,analyzing the content distribution, composition characteristics, sources andecological risk of the PAHs in the study area. We come to the followingconclusions:(1)Contents distribution and characteristic of composition in theresearching seas: The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in thecoast of Guangdong province were among112.01327.9ng.g-1, and the averagecontents was454.9ng.g-1.①The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surfacesediments in the Aquatic waters of Nan’ao Island insummer were among117.0342.8ng.g-1, and the average content was210.4ng.g-1; The contents of thesixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in the Aquatic waters of Nan’ao Island inwinter were among107.0262.1ng.g-1and the average content was192.9ng.g-1.②The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in the media of DaYaBay were among276.4792.2ng.g-1, and the average content was430.64ng.g-1.③The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in the sea of HuangmaoIsland were among329.7595.6ng.g-1, and the average content was452.6ng.g-1.④The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in the Aquaculture waters of Dapeng Bay were among129.2638.7ng.g-1, and the average content was274.5ng.g-1.⑤The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in the MirsBay were among216.61314.9ng.g-1, and the average contents was572.7ng.g-1.⑥The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in Lingdingyang of PearlRiver Estuary were among143.9ng.g-1522.7ng.g-1, and the average contents was287.1ng.g-1.⑦The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in theZhuhai Gaolan Island were among361.51327.9ng.g-1, and the average contentswas692.2ng.g-1.⑧The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in thesea around Aomen were among591.3979.2ng.g-1, and the average contents was739.7ng.g-1.⑨The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in theMaoming Bohe harbor were among226.9313.0ng.g-1, and the average contentswas279.4ng.g-1.⑩The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in theBeijin bay were among542.3759.9ng.g-1, and the average contents was644.8ng.g-1.1○1The contents of the sixteen PAHs of the surface sediments in the theLiusha bay were among186.5300.9ng.g-1, and the average contents was239.8ng.g-1.(2)Comparative analyze of the content and the composition of PAHs inthe surface sediments of the coastal in Guangdong province:the PAHs contents inthe surface sediments of the coastal surface sediments of Guangdong Provincefollowed the following order: the sea around Aomen>the Zhuhai Gaolanharbor>Beijin bay>the Mirs Bay>the sea of Huangmao Island>media of DaYaBay>Liusha bay>Lingdingyang of Pearl River Estuary>Bohe harbor〉 theAquaculture waters of Dapeng Bay> the Aquatic waters of Nan’ao Island.The lowrings PAHs were the dominated monomers in the most seas except the media ofDaYa Bay and the Mirs Bay. Phe and An were the dominated monomers in the mostresearching seas except the the sea around Aomen,the sea of Huangmao Island,themedia of DaYa Bay and the Aquaculture waters of Dapeng Bay.(3)Relationship between physic chemical properties and the PAHs of thesurface sediments from Guangdong coastal:the relationship between PAHs and TOCand the relationship between PAHs and particle size in the Aquatic waters of Nan’aoIsland was studied in this paper,the results showed that,there was no correlationbetween PAHs and TOC;Clayey silt was the dominated monomers in the surfacesediments,and there exists significant correlation between PAHs and silty sand grainsize composition,there were no correlation between clay and sand grain sizecomposition.(4)Relationship between PAHs and total petroleum hydrocarbon in the surface sediments from Guangdong coastal: The results showed that PAHs onlyaccounted very few ratio in the total petroleum hydrocarbons,the ratio was in0.10%2.81%,and the average scale was1.07%;phenanthrene accounted heavierproportion in the total petroleum hydrocarbon,was in0.015%0.667%,and theaverage value was0.173%;naphthalene also occupied heavier proportion in thesurface sediments from the Aquatic waters of Nan’ao Island,the Daya Bay,the seaaround Aomen and the Mirs Bay.I(1,2,3-cd)P was also detected in the Lingdingyangof Pearl River Estuary and,the Aquatic waters of Nan’ao Island and the sea aroundAomen.(5)Comparison of the pollution status of the PAHs in the surfacesediments of the coastal in Guangdong province with sea home and abroad:Theresearching arears were in a moderate level compared to the other developed areaswithin the world environment in this paper;The contents in the surface sediments ofthe researching arears were close to the contents in the surface sediments of SouthYellow Sea and the Changjiang River in domestic.(6) The integrated analyze of the PAHs in the coastal in Guangdongprovince: The result showed that the petrogenic source was the dominated source inthe Lingdingyang of Pearl River Estuary,the Aquaculture waters of Dapeng Bay,thesea around Aomen and the Beijin bay;the coal fuel combustion was the dominatedsource in the seas except the above seas in Guangdong Province.(7)The ecological risk estimate of the PAHs in the surface sediments inthe coastal in Guangdong province:Low-mid of effect range and Quotient ofmid-value of mean effect were used to assess the ecological risk of single compositionin this paper,the result tells us that the seas in Guangdong Province belonged to thelow ecological risk area. Though I(1,2,3-cd)P has no the lowest security level,it wasdetected in Lingdingyang of Pearl River Estuary,the Aquatic waters of Nan’aoIsland,Liusha bay and Bohe harbor.
