The α-aminophosphonates were considered as the analogues of α-amino acids withnotable bioactivities and could be used as peptide analogues, catalytic antibodies of hapten, antibiotics and pharmaceuticals. However, there are little researches on synthesis andapplication of α-aminophosphonate polymer. In this thesis, two kinds ofα-aminophosphonate polymers were prepared and their applications as flame retardant forepoxy resin and adsorption of heavy mental ion were investigated respectively accordingto their chemical structures.Diethylenetriamine, terephthalic aldehyde and diethyl phosphate were used tosynthesize the polymer, and two methods were adopted. Besides, the three-component,one-pot method—Kabachnik-Fields reaction could synthesize the α-aminophosphonatepolymers characterized by FTIR and NMR. The reaction time is a key factor to control themolecular weight of the polymer as well as its distribution. With the polymer added, thebisphenol A type epoxy resin could be cured at about110℃according to DSC results.Samples within more than20%(weight proportion) polymer could pass UL-94V test witha classification of V-0. The TG results indicated that within30%polymer, the char yield at700℃would reach up to22.50%. Besides, the DMA results manifested that the Tg ofthe cured resin would rise as the weight proportion increased. The bending strength andimpact strength of the epoxy resins cured with α-aminophosphonate polymer decreasedwhile the bending modulus and compressive modulus increased compared to epoxy resinscured with diethylenetriamine. What’s more, the hydrophobicity of epoxy resins could bemaintained according to the contact angle and the moisture adsoption rate was less than1.2%when the relative humidity was33, which met the requirement of conventionalapplication.Another α-aminophosphonate polymer gel was synthesized by K-F reaction using diethylenetriamine, terephthalic aldehyde and poly(oxyethylene phosphonate) which wassynthesized by transesterification. The Mnof poly(oxyethylene phosphonate) was2250(g/mol) according to1H-NMR result. The swelling ratio of α-aminophosphonate polymergel was369.7%. The effects of gel amount, Cu2+concentration, pH, time and tempratureon adsorption were investigated. According to thermodynamic analysis, the adsorptionprocess is based on chemisorption, meanwhile ΔG <0, ΔH>0, ΔS>0suggest that theadsorption process is drived by the increase of entropy and the decrease of free energe. And the adsorption rate is controlled by diffusion process according to kinetic analysis.
