The stability of the hydraulic support is the basis for the coal mining face’s normalproduction, due to the development of hydraulic support technology, Stability analysisand control of the hydraulic support become increasingly important. In this paper, a seriesof studies were carried out to study the stability of two-column hydraulic support, themain research contents and results are as follows:1. Generated the hydraulic support’s three-dimensional solid model, simplifiedspace model and simplified plane model. Got the support’s geometry, weight and masscenter, studied the force of the top beam under various loading conditions.2. Derived the anti-dumping and anti-slippage coefficient in horizontal andlongitudinal direction, studied the effect of work resistance, face angle, rock gravity,support weight, friction coefficient, support geometry and other factors. Researched thesupport’s moving pressure on inclined coal mining face. Studied the stability of thecolumn under various load conditions and the effect of initial bending.3. Considered the effect of pin clearance, Obtained the top beam’s offset in threeforms: vertical deflection, vertical deflection and horizontal offset. studied the offset’seffect on stability, proposed relevant measures to increase the stability of the support.4. Developed stability analysis software, realized stability analysis throughgeometric parameters input, parameter checking, modeling, computing and results output.Developed optimal design software for support, used sequential quadraticprogramming algorithm, realized stability-based optimal design.
