Reheating furnace is one of the key equipments in rolling line of iron and steel industry, it is also one of the major energy consumption equipment with large inertia, pure time-delay, nonlinear, strong coupling characteristics. The billets temperature in the heating furnace should be suit to be milled with fewer fuel consumption, by controlling each section temperature of heating furnace. The currently used control schemes are difficult to reach the ideal control effect because of the mathematical model of the higher accuracy. In view of the good application of Generalized Predictive Control algorithm in industrial process, this paper establishes the generalized predictive control algorithm of the heating furnace temperature and also obtains good effect in the experiment.In order to expand the application scope of the Generalized Predictive Control of heating furnace temperature, this paper puts forward a new Generalized Predictive Control algorithm based on particle swarm optimization algorithm, which is used to solve the heating furnace temperature with constraints, which is a new controlled object. And the new one involves several sections such as the forecast model, the rolling optimization, the feedback, constraints processing and so on, which are analyzed in this paper. The algorithm process is given in the next section. In order to improve the solution quality of particle swarm optimization algorithm, this paper proposes an improved particle swarm optimization algorithm, which makes the predictive control algorithm be more suitable for practical production process. These algorithms above, are all realized through the C++senior programming language. From the program, Generalized Predictive Control algorithm is verified feasibility and effectiveness to the controlled object of reheating furnace temperature, especially the particle swarm optimization algorithm has good performance for solving a nonlinear quadratic programming problem with constraints.Finally, this paper analyses that the simulation technology takes an important role in the reheating furnace research. Then this paper introduces a reheating furnace simulation system. The simulation system provides a good experimental platform for the subsequent heating furnace research.
