Brittle and hard materials have excellent mechanical, thermal and other properties. In recent years, the materials are widely used in aerospace, mechanical, military, precision manufacturing and other fields, but the high hardness and brittleness of brittle and hard materials will make the machinability of its significantly reduced. Most of the processed parts will have different types of surface damage, so, this will result in lower the strength of parts. Because of brittle and hard materials broad application prospect and the lower productivity of its grinding method, the high cost of production, surface quality difficult to control, have called to conduct a comprehensive in-depth study for grinding brittle and hard materials.Therefore, this paper applied to ultra-high speed grinding brittle and hard materials processing, in-depth study mechanism of brittle and hard materials, analysis of grinding parameters on the effect law of grinding force and grinding temperature. This provides a theoretical support to improve processing efficiency and quality of surface processing. This paper mainly study including the following aspects:(1) Acoording to the actual surface morphology of diamond grinding wheel, abrasive irregular shapes, physical simulation model of grinding wheel is established. Abrasive grain of this model is six faces cone. Effectual grains is calculated by model parameters.(2) Acoording to the grinding mechanism of brttle and hard material, the material removal process is divided into ductile plowing and brittle facture removal. Force model of brittle and hard material is established. Al2O3, Si3N4, SiC are simulated with the model. The influence rules of grinding parameters on grinding force is analyzed by simulation results. In grinding process, grinding parameters of ductile plowing stage have more influence for grinding force than it of brittle facture stage.(3) The abrasive grains and bond have different heat-transfer properties. Considering this, heat partition of grinding is modeled. Temperature distribution of grinding brittle and hard materials is modeled with the heat partition and triangular heat source. The temperature distribution of MATLAB is simulated by this temperature model. The influence rules of grinding parameters on temperature are analyzed by MATLAB temperature simulation. It is found that the grinding temperature is incresasing as the wheel speed and grinding depth increasing. And in the same conditions brittle and hard materials are simulated by finite element method, to compare the two simulation method, the difference in temperature is in the boundary, so preliminary validation gringding temperature model is correct.(4) Based on the grinding force and grinding temperature model of brittle and hard materials, using VC++and OpenGL developed a simulation processing system. It can be more intuitive, simple to reflect the different processing parameters on the surface grinding of brittle hard materials.
