With the development of auto industry, the demand for tire machinery continued rising. Meanwhile, the quality of the products has higher requirement. Wire bead array line is an essential tire machinery, and it’s production is the critical component of the radial tire. The main purpose of this article is to improve the precision and stability of the wire array control system, which can also increase the production efficiency, product quality and the automation level of this system.In this paper, the component and working principle of the wire array line are expounded in detail, and the factors which influence the product quality and the performance trait is analyzed. Then the mathematical model is built. Depending on it, conventional control method is used in designing the control system and analyzed the uncertainty of the wire array system. The influence of the speed loop performance caused by the uncertainty factors is studied with simulation, further more, the influence to the stability of the position loop related to the variable performance of the speed loop is also analyzed.In order to solve the approximate modeling, parameter variation and external disturbance of the wire array control servo system, and the model reference adaptive control strategy have simply control structure and can be easily engineering implementation, the Narendra error model’s model reference control strategy which based on Lyapunov stable theory is introduced and applied to the speed loop of the system. In this case this system can adjust the controller’s parameter when the object changed, so the speed loop can follow the ideally reference model and the position loop can have perfect control performance.Finally, a simulated model is built in the Matlab/Simulink software, the simulated result indicate that when the model parameter have changed in a scope or there have random disturbance, the model reference control strategy can improve system with more favorable performance.
