| Turn-milling technology is an advanced metal cutting technology which developsquickly with the development of five-axis CNC machine tools. Domestic researcherswho research on direction of turn-milling technology are relatively rare that constraintsthe further development of turn-milling technology, and milling centers doesn’t play agood role on its effect. Cutting force is an important factor generated by turn-millingprocess that affects the strength, stiffness of technology system and work-piece surfacequality. It is often used for detecting and monitoring cutting tool wear and surfacequality in the automated production. Both single-factor and multi-factor orthogonal testmethod are adopted to reveal rules and degree that cutting parameters impact on cuttingforce in this paper. The main contents are as follows:The volume error between cutting model and actual cutting is calculated on thebasis of the cutting force model by axial turn-milling in the cutting process by per teethto check that the cutting force model is correct or not. Instantaneous cutting forcechanges are simulated by MATLAB7.0software in the cutting process by per teeth tostudy the influence law of cutting parameters on cutting force, the entrance and exitangle of milling tool. Chip shape changes are simulated by AutoLISP to check theaccuracy of cutting force modeling. The range of the maximum cutting force, theaverage cutting force and volume errors are calculated to confirm the influence extent ofcutting parameters on them.The volume error between cutting model and actual cutting is only about3%bybeing calculated on the basis of the cutting force model, and chip shape changes areconsistent with the rules of cutting force changes with the cutting parameters changesby per teeth. So cutting force model can be used for calculating value we need to studycutting force. The cutting force is simulated, revealing the rules of the instantaneouscutting force changes in the cutting process by per teeth on end cutting edge and circularcutting edge, the influence rules of cutting parameters on cutting force and cutting time,the influence extent of cutting parameters on cutting force and volume error. |
