| Today, the requirements of high quality, low power, high efficiency and less pollution on the foundry industry are put forward with the progress of science and technology and the development of national economy. Lost Foam Casting is the new process of advanced technology, high economic benefit, green environmental protection. In our country, the simulation technology used in the casting process design is still the initial stage, but already shows an increasingly important role in improving casting yield and process yield, accelerating new product development, adapting to the agility of the market demand.Research institutes, casting factory and so on are also strongly focusing on the research and application of the casting process simulation design.This paper proposes a set of convenient and practical dynamic simulation methods by using today’s mainstream simulation software ProCAST and MAGMA on the Lost Foam Casting filling and solidification process. The technical route:Analysising or predicting casting defects (according to casting method, casting material and structure)→According to casting defects, determine the simulation contents(the flow field, temperature field or stress field, etc)→ccording to the simulation contents, choose the simulation softwares and its modules→According to the simulation results, find out the causes of defects→Proposing technical measures, improving the process, cycle simulation→obtaining the qualified process of casting→According to the qualified process of casting, make product technology management documents and product production management documents→mplementing the whole production process quality control→Stabilizing production of high quality castings.In order to solve the tedious, error-prone problem by software ProCAST grid division, this paper proposes five kinds of solutions to better solve the problems of the software mesh division;MAGMA software to define new materials, obtaining the material properties parameters is a big problem, for such problems, the four kinds of thermal parameters calculation are summed up.Applying the research results of the subject, and can conveniently and quickly choose to use simulation software ProCAST or MAGMA for casting process simulation according to the type, shape, size and distribution state of the defects of the objective existence or of analysis and forecast of the casting; can dynamically, tangibly, intuitively show casting defects; can accurately analyze the causes of casting defects, and put forward the correct solution to overcome the casting defects, so make the casting process design means from traditional to modern, and make the casting process design process from "qualitative" to "quantitative", from the "experience" to "science"... |
