High-performance Oil-based Cleaner For Hydraulic System

The hydraulic oil used in hydraulic system will deteriorate for various reasons after being used for a period of time, for example, oxidation, water and dust and pollutants. The aging hydraulic oil will generate colloid or sludge which will deposit on the metal surface of the inner wall of hydraulic system. Before replacing with the new lubricating oil, these colloid or sludge should be cleared off from the hydraulic system, otherwise, the normal operation of system will be affected. Traditional cleaning method is to use special wash oil or the system service oil itself to wash the system for2to3times. The cost of this method is high and the procedure is inconvenient.The main object of research is to develop a new high-performance oil-based hydraulic system cleaning agent. This cleaner will be added into the lubricating oil before it is going to be replaced (at least48hours in advance). Its amount of adding cleaner is about1%, and it should solve and disperse the sludge. So the deposit and oil sludge will be flushed away with the old hydraulic oil when it is discharged from the system for replacement. Then the fresh oil can be injected into the system directly.The detergents, dispersants, Span, Tween, OP, AEO, MOA were compounded step by step as the main components of cleaner. First the performance of single agents was researched, then the mixture of two, four, and five agents. Through examining the amount of the dissolved sludge after adding these recipes to the hydraulic oil, the optimal cleaning agent formula was determined. The optimal formula indicates that detergents, dispersants and OP have a good performance on dissolving the sludge. When the amount of formula was1%, the amount of dissolved sludge was more than1%.After adding the cleaner into the hydraulic oil, the testing of physical and chemical properties of the oil showed that there was only little change in the properties, and the oil with the cleaner was still applicable.
