Recently, the air-jet loom is one of the most widely used looms in our country. As to the remarkable influence on weaving process and textile quality, it’s necessary to control the variation of tension.Firstly, This article summarizes hot spots of present research in this field, gives and analyzes the types and characters of warp tension detector, expounds and analyzes warp tension control strategy, and points out future tendency of controlling warp tension of high-speed loom.Secondly, the whole process of weaving on loom is composed by five main mechanical motions. This article is based on a research on the influence of dynamic warp tension by mechanical motion of loom, analyses physical dimension and mechanical property during process of shedding motion, beating-up, loose-warp, let-off, take-up, back-rest, etc. In addition, this article builds a mathematical model of loom by MATLAB/SIMULINK, and gets results from simulation, proves the validity of the model after analysis. Meanwhile, the model in this article is a divided waip yarn model after adopting Voigt yarn model that also illustrates the difference of divided part of warp tension during weaving.Thirdly, on the basis of analyzing the deformantion of the yarm during one weaving period of the air-jet looms, a kind of active magnetic electric integrated rear spar device is proposed in this thesis to realize dynamic tension uniformity compensation of the warp. The flat-bottomed follower cam mechanism is used in the proposed device.The cam is designed by means of parameter design and outline design, and then the three-dimensional model is established using the software, Solidworks. The feasibility of the device is validated by using Solidworks Motion plug to do the motion simulation.Finally, conclusions can be drawn out by the combination of the improved active rear spar device with the brushless DC motor and through software simulation using MATLAB.Conclusions include that the design project can reach good expected affection, that warp tension has a smooth transitsion, that the system has good response characteristics,that the controlling accuracy is improved greatly.
