As re-melting improved the elements, which made greatly improved the quality of metal to achieve the purpose of energy saving and emission reduction, economic efficiency is high, now it has been widely used in industrial production, especially special steel processing. So how to apply appropriate control methods to create the optimal control system to ensure the stability of the re-melting process and reliability is very important.This paper first briefly introduced the history of development electro-slag re-melting method, the status quo the control, the classification of electro-slag furnace and mold, and compared several types of electro-slag furnace and mold. Then a brief introduction to the great influence on the quality of steel ingot re-melting slag material in the role of electro-slag re-melting process and the quality of slag composition on the impact of melting. The hardware components of electro-slag furnace, including start-slagging, normal melting, hot cap and so on has been mentioned.The dual-closed-loop control methods for a normal melting process has been put forward at last. Outer ring formed by melting quality measurement speed feedback loop, inner loop for the current feedback loop.
