Bioavailability of cadmium to saurogobiodabryi by diffusive gradients in thin films technique (DGT) was studied in laboratory. In order to determine secure concentrations, the acute toxicity of cadmium to saurogobiodabryi was studied, based on this, the accumulation of cadmium in saurogobiodabryi were studied. The accumulation characteristic of DGT to cadmium was studied, DGT devices with the CMC, PSS and PAAS solutions as the binding phases and cellulose dialysis membrane (CDM) as the diffusive phase. On the basis of the relation among DGT, saurogobiodabryi and cadmium concentration in the water, a comparison of cadmium accumulation in saurogobiodabryi and DGT was conducted in laboratory. The results showed that saurogobiodabryi, very strong accumulation and the higher tolerance to cadmium, and an ideal indicator of cadmium contamination in the water; the amount of cadmium accumulated in both saurogobiodabryi body and gill increased with exposure time, but the absorption rate of gill is higher than saurogobiodabryi body with the decrease of the growth rate; absorption ratio increased with exposure time, and growth rate tended to be slow down; there was positive correlation between saurogobiodabryi and cadmium in water.CDM-CMC-DGT, CDM-PSS-DGT and CDM-PAAS-DGT can be used for quantitative accumulating cadmium in synthetic water, and the long-term monitoring of cadmium in the water.Comparing DGT and Saurogobiodabryi on accumulating cadmium, finding that there was positive correlation between DGT, saurogobiodabryi and cadmium in synthetic water, this is same DGT and saurogobiodabryi. It was deduced that it is feasible to monitoring the heavy metal content in natural water by DGT, the accumulation can reflect heavy metal bioaccumulation of saurogobiodabryi in a duration time.
