Research On The Thickness Control Technology In1580HSM Of Baosteel

With the development of the steel industry, more new control theory and computer technology are used in steel industry daily. It is a good way for steel industry development to improve the precision of control and the quality of products, and to reduce cost by adopting new technology. As with the equipment aging in1580HSM plant, the annually increasing product quality demand, it is necessary to research on the thickness control technology, to optimize the existing control thickness model, to increase the thickness control accuracy, and to reduce the inhibit product. It is very helpful to analyze the thickness control theory and to do more research on the application.Based on the mill stretch equation, several important relationship using the P-H curve were analyzed. Several thickness vibration reason and several adjustment method using mill stretch curve and material distortion curve were researched. And some control methods for thickness control were introduced and analyzed deeply.Then, deep researches on the existing thickness control system for1580HSM of Baosteel were executed and analyzed the existing problems. Using the Smith Predictor control strategy, the effect of time-delay was eliminated and a well control effect was expected using the Smith Predictor. Taking both the Forward feedback and feedback advantage, a combined control solution was designed. Taking the advantage of forward feedback which can eliminate the error quickly and also the advantage of feedback which can control the different disturb.Finally, using the improved Smith-Predictor and the combined FF-AGC and FB-AGC control solution, the existing control system is revamped. It is proved by the daily actual produce data that the revamped thickness control solution solved the problems in the original system and improved the thickness control accuracy in1580HSM, Baosteel, Ltd,Co.
