There are many kinds of coal mine underground gases which are flammable and poisonous in China. The work space underground in coal mine are very narrow, and it’s difficult to alert staff for the toxic and harmful gases. In the event of disaster, it will cause wide-ranging effect. Disaster relief is so dangerous that great difficulties will be caused to mine production. Therefore, it’s very important to analyze and detect mine mixed gases. Currently, the methods of sensors and gas chromatography are commonly used in mine mixed gases analysis. However, there are many limitations in the gas chromatographic analysis technology and sensors, it’s necessary to study a new kind of theory and equipment based on Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy which is on-line, fast, accurate analysis method of the mine mixed gases. After the rational choice of key components in FT-IR spectrometer and parameters based on infrared spectral theory, the experiment of standard gas spectral scanning have been done and the spectral data have been got. Support vector machine (SVM) has been applied with the infrared spectral data of mine mixed gases. A qualitative and quantitative analysis model has been established. Then the corresponding analysis software was compiled, which form a complete set of spectral technology and equipment that form on-line mine mixed gas measure. Through experiments and field applications, it can be found that:at a resolution of lcm-1, on the experimental conditions of10cm optical path and temperature and pressure controlled gas pool, the precision of the tested gases meet requirements, and the test results are accurate and reliable, indicating that the mine mixed gases analysis technology based on FT-IR is feasible, and the mine mixed gas spectrum analyzer is available.
