In this study, a pilot device was set up in order to investigate the problems occured durning the operation of the petrochemical wastewater treatment plant, determined the optimum process conditions, then applied the optimal conditions to the wastewater treatment plant in order to meet the requirements of effluent emission targets:COD<50mg/L、NH3-N≤5mg/L. After the sludge acclimation in pilot device reached stable operation, durning the stable operation stage, effluent COD concentration was under50mg/L, NH3-N concentration was under the detection limit with the influent COD concentration of500mg/L, NH3-N concentration of100mg/L. This anaerobic-aerobic process system can withstand the impact of toxic and hazardous substances, through appropriate debugging, the biosystem can quickly restored to the state of stable operation. The effluent indicators can meet the effluent emission targets with Cl-concentration of4500mg/L. It was considered that the influent concentration of COD in the wasterwater treatment plant can be raised up to500mg/L. NH3-N can be raised to100mg/L, which were increased by19%and66.6%, respectively, compared with the design values. Optimization experiments was conducted in the pilot device, the best experimental conditions for wastewater denitrification using anaerobic-aerobic process were as follows:the temperate of aerobic tank was above20℃, DO concentration was4mg/L, C/N was not less than5, pH value was between7.0-8.5.Microbial degradation kinetics of NH3-N equation was established through the calculation of the Monod equation. Monod kinetic equation parameters are as follows:the maximum specific degradation rate was0.12h-1, half-saturation constant was7.22mg/L. Microbial degradation of NH3-N kinetic equation can be expressed as...
