With the development of manufacturing technology, the drill with indexable inserts has been applied to the hole processing very much. The High Speed Steel Twist Drill and solid carbide drill have been replaced by the drill with indexable inserts because of the efficiency, high durability and inexpensive of it. The drill with indexable inserts can get the good cutting performance by changing different inserts easily while it is engages with the workpiece of different materials.Due to the skew distribution of the two inserts, the force of it becomes much complex. The paper researches that how point structure of the drills with indexable inserts influences the cutting performance. It tells the basic to dislocation principle and lap length of the two inserts, and chooses the right coating and groove type of the inserts for cutting the "P" material. Through the conclusion of the experiment, we can develop the performance of the drills.It will lay a foundation for studying the cutting force, cutting temperature and the structure of the drills. It provides a certain parameter for the drill point. It also provides a good project for increasing the service life of the tool through choosing the right cutting parameter.
