Ionic liquids, due to the unique physicochemical properties, have received considerable attention for promising industrial applications. Ionic liquids usually can act as solvent, cosurfactant or surfactant to endow the mixed surfactants system with more unique characters. However, there are relatively few references and the fundamental research about the role of ionic liquids in mixed surfactant system is rather few. Therefore, we will do some systematization research to investigate the interaction between ionic liquids and surfactant. In this paper, aggregation of ionic liquids aqueous solution have been measured by multi-techniques, the regular solution theory and the Flory-Huggins theory of cmc were used to calculate the thermodynamics of ionic liquids-surfactant mixture system. During the study it was found that [C4mim]Br,[C6mim]Br and [C8mim]Br can act as surfactants in mixed ionic liquids/DTAB system. Interaction parameters and the micellar phase composition were calculated, and the cmc of mixed system can be predicted. The lyotopic liquid crystal formed in [C12mim]Br/SDS mixed aqueous solutions have been studied. This liquid crystal is a new type of spiral liquid crystal with chiral spiral structure. In addition, the effects of [Cnmim]Br on the interfacial crystalline of12Ar have also been researched. Non covalent bonding interactions between the molecules including hydrogen-bond network, the electrostatic attractive interaction, the van der wals forces between hydrophobic chains, the hydrophobic interaction in addition to the synergistic effect lead to the change of interface crystal.
