Abrasion is closely related with the service life of rubber products, especially in the wear resistance of tire. Many factors affect the abrasion performance of rubber. In order to explore the rubber abrasion mechanism, this article mainly discusses the effects of carbon black, heat oxygen aging, temperature and some external conditions on abrasion and other relevant properties of natural rubber composites, which may predict some application performances of rubber products. This article used natural rubber as basic gum, and filled four carbon blacks (N234,40b2, N33O, N375) into natural rubber. The samples were chosen and prepared by using different mixing process. Firstly, we chose the proper mixing process by comparing the physical and thermal properties of samples. Secondly, through the use of electronic tensile machine, hardness tester, laser thermal conductivity meter and Akron abrasion tester, we tested the mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of samples in order to contact with the abrasion loss. Thirdly, through the hot oxygen aging treatment, samples were prepared for the cross-link density testing and analysis. We were trying to get the relationship between abrasion and aging. Finally, abrasion surfaces were observed by SEM. The influences of some external factors were also studied. The results of study show that:(1) Different kinds of carbon black and contents produce different influences on abrasion of composites, the smaller size, the bigger dosage, the less abrasion.(2) Aging time and temperature all affect the crosslink density, which directly impact the abrasion. With the increase of aging time and temperature, the abrasions of composites decrease.(3) Some external conditions such as temperature, abrasion medium, abrasion mileage and angle are also never look down upon. (4) The scanning electron microscope can clearly view the abrasion surface of composites and indicate the effect of carbon black content on abrasion morphology.
