| Attapulgite is a kind of natural clay minerals. Owing to its properties, such as special crystal structure and superficial character, attapulgite possesses fine adsorptive, rheologic, catalytic and filling capabilities, which endow it with ion exchange, heat stabilization, salt resistance. Accordingly, attapulgite has comprehensive application.The surface morphologyã€surface area,weight-lost rate functional groups and crystal structure of attapulgite clay was analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscope,specific surface area(BET method),thermal properties (TGA),FT-IR andXRD.The CEC of the clay is40.44mmol/100g by the method of ammonium chloride-anhydrous ethanol. In this paper preparation, condition of adsorption of attapulgite clay on heavy mantal ions were studied systemically:The effects of adsorption on the adsorption properties for Cr6+were studied. The results showed that, the optimum technological conditions are as follows:the adsorption temperature is30℃, the adsorption time30min, the pH7. In this condition, the adsorption capacities for Cr6+, Cu2+, Mn2+, Fe3+are48.66mg/g,32.72mg/g,10.22mg/g,4.85mg/g, respectively.Useing octadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride modified the attapulgite clay. It can be sure that octadearyl dimethyl ammonium chloride was connected in attapulgite clay by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FT-IR spectroscopy. The adsorption data of acid yellow49onto cationic modified attapulgite clay was fitted well to the Langmuir isotherms. The adsorption enthalpy changes were11.47kJ/mol and the values of adsorption entropy changes were positive, the adsorption Gibbs free energy changes was negative. The processes of the adsorption of the acid yellow49onto the cationic modified attapulgite clay was endothermic and spontaneous. The adsorptive kinetics data were in good agreement with the pseudo-second rate equation. The adsorption capacity cationic modified attapulgite clay was increased with different degree of anion dye. And its saturated adsorption capacity was affected by the reducing of electric charges in the dye.The applicated effect that the attapulgite clay were studiedin the pre-processing and reactive dye soaping processing. The absorption of attapulgite clay on heavy mantal ions dose have a certain effect in oxygen bleaching. In the prosess of reactive dye soaping, the cationic modified clay dose absorb the unfixed dye. |
