In the numerical control programming standards ISO14649, there is no uniform formatfor five-axis machining instructions, it leads to various machining programmes used indifferent machine tools. In this paper, a general data format-based on ISO14649, the APTlanguage standard is utilized to program the five-axis machining instructions, in order todevelop the corresponding numerical control system which can be used in various five-axismachine tools.At first, for using the APT language standard cutter location files, instruction relolver isdesigned in order to extract cutter location point, feed velocity and processing technicinformation from them.The smooth velocity transition of the adjacent cutter location points and the forecast ofthe velocity declining point is realized by utilizing linear speeding control method andvelocity look-ahead control algorithm. Based on data sampling interpolation method, assumethe same characteristic of direction vector coordinate and location vector coordinate, five-axislinkage linear interpolation method was designed.From the point of view of kinematics, this paper has calculated the machine kinematicsof the basic structure of five-axis machine tools, built the mathematical model of Kinematictransform and designed coordinate transform calculate modules of five-axis machine tools.Based on the theory of the non-linear errors produced by five-axis linkage interpolation,the models which are used to calculate the non-linear errors were constructed. After analysingthe regularity of distribution of the non-linear errors, self-adaptive linearization method cancontrol the non-linear errors effectively.Based on the analysis and calculation, five-axis machine tools linkage interpolationsystem which aims at multiple types is developed, this kind of system can forecast thedeceleration point according to the cutter location information, control the smooth transitionof the velocity, and optimize non-linear deviation, processes the simulation of the feedinformation, and use the good effect to prove the reliability of the system.
