| The composite in which at least one dimension size of dispersed phases less than100nmis refered to nano-composite. How to achieve the clay dispertion of monolayer or mulie-layerin the rubber matrix is the most critical factor in preparation rubber/clay nanocomposites. In this paper, melt blending and the new method (situ modification and pre-swelling)were used to preparation rubber/clay nanocomposites. The microstructure and mechanicalproperties of the composite was observed. The experimental results showed that the newmethod can be easier to acquired excellent microstructure and mechanical properties ofrubber/clay nanocomposites, all of this showed the the feasibility and advantages of the newmethod. The new method preparation rubber/clay nanocomposites are mainly through situorganically modified the clay while using small molecule organic solvent to achievepre-expansion. The clay layer spacing is further expanded; it is easier to the rubbermacromolecules intercalated into the clay layer spacing. The clay layers should be betterdispersed in the rubber matrix formed a more refined phase structure and enhanced themechanical properties of the rubber/clay composites. Researched on the factors of influencethe microstructure and mechanical properties of rubber/clay nanocomposites, for example:the dosage of organic modifier, the type and dosage of organic solvent, the rubber matrixpolarity, etc. Obtained the law of the clay layers exfoliated dispersion in the ruuber matrix, optimized the preparation conditions.Used to guide the development and application ofrubber/clay nanocomposites. The experimental results showed that the new method for the different type of orangnicsolvents, the different type of clay and the different polarity rubber matrix can obtain theexcellent microstructure and mechanical properties of rubber/clay nanocomposites. The above researchs are enriched the merhod of preparation rubber/clay nanocomposites. It has provided the theoretical guidance and scientific basis for preparationhigh-performance rubber/clay nanocomposites. |
