| Hypochlorous acid is a highly reactive oxygen species. It is of great significance to develop new luminescent probes for detecting hypochlorous acid in the field of bioscience and environmental chemistry. In this work, a highly sensitive and selective Ru(II) complex-based phosphorescent probe,[Ru(bpy)2(NHM-bpy)](PF6)2, has been designed and prepared for the deternination of hypochlorite in aqueous solutions. The weakly luminescent probe can selectively react with hypochlorite to yield its carboxyl compound, accompanied by a remarkable enhancement in phosphorescence intensity. Upon reactions with various reactive oxygen species, the probe displayed high specificity for hypochlorite. The probe was used for the phosphorescence detection of hypochlorite, which showed a good linearity with a detection limit of0.61μmol/L. The probe has been used in the detection of hypochlorite in practical water samples. The results indicate the assay has good precision and accuracy. |
