In the manufacturing of jet-pan, the uncertainty of the press fit assembly process leads to low yield level and high cost of production. Traditional jet-pan assembly is assembled manually by experienced and skilled workers, with weak assembly parameters controlling and low realiblity, thus the assembly quality and efficiency is greatly influenced. To eliminate this serious situation,a semi-automatic assembly system has been created for overcoming all adverse factors of manual assembly process.The development of jet-pan assembly system, which is aimed at completing jet-pan assembly opertation, is taken as the research mainline in this paper, and the key technologies of jet-pan assembly system are studied.With the simulation analysis method,the relationship between the interference and max SQEV or holding force has been analyzed,as well as friction coefficient and cyliderical of jet-pan.The reasonable amount of interference was selected with the use of simulation analysis results. And also the qualified press-force and displacement curve.The sturcture of jet-pan assembly system was introduced,the system designed based on modularize and functionalization method.The system can be divided into four modules:installing and aligning module,fixture module,press force and displacement measurement module and press-fit module.Based on the research of the jet-pan assembly process,the clamping requirements of jet-pan was determined,and the fixture sccheme of the jet-pan was established.The fixture was disigned for taking the dimensions characteristics and shape feature into consideration.The reliability of fixture has been confirmed with the virtual assembly and the simulation analysis method.The position error of jet-pan assembly system and the jet-pan machining error are the key factors to affect the assembly precision and realiblity of jet-pan.To achieve how the position error influences the jet-pan asembly,the positon error of the assembly system was studied. Simulation models were created for studying the angular error and shell tilted hole impact of assembly process with the maximization problem principle.In the use of simulation analysis method,the relationship between angular error and jet-pan assembly parameters has been acquired,as well as the magnitude of tilted hole. And the reasonable angular error and magnitude of tilted hole were presented for improving the quality of jet-pan assembly.
