The high-speed cutting technology is one of the hot issues of domestic and foreign manufacturing research and also is the main direction of the advanced manufacturing technology research. The high-speed cutting mechanism research is the basis for the development of high-speed cutting technology and the study of the stress field of high-speed cutting is an important part of the study of high-speed cutting mechanism. In metal cutting process, cutting stress field has an important impact on tool life, tool wear and spare parts processing quality, so the cutting stress field has become the focus in the field of high-speed machining.Finite element model of high-speed intermittent cutting is established based on the principle of high-speed cutting. Divided grid, chip formation, the friction model as well as the separation criteria which are the key technologies of the finite element simulation are in-depth research. In cutting system, tool geometry parameters and cutting parameters affect the quality of parts processing, the production cost, production cycle and the economic benefits of entire cutting system. To study the inflution law of face milling cutter geometry parameters and cutting parameters to the milling force by numerical simulation technology provides a theoretical basis for guiding tool structure design and optimization of cutting parameters. With the help of the finite element simulation analysis software AdvantEdge, we can gain cutting force, cutting temperature, field changes of stress and temperature. Finally, applying the empirical formula of milling force calculating the values of the milling force, and compared the theoretical values with actual values, we see theoretical and actual values has the same trend, which has an important guiding significance on analyzing the impact of various parameters on the milling force.
