As an important pollutant in the atmosphere, elimination of CO has practical significance for industration,environment and human life. Because catalytic oxidation reaction is difficult in normal conditions.It needs the help of high efficient catalyst to accelerate the reaction Research shows that high dispertion of precious metal catalyst has high catalytic activity for CO catalytic oxidation reaction.All that can be used as a noble metal catalyst carrier is mostly metal oxide.There is less research on an inert carrier of noble metal catalyst load. Montmorillonite is a kind of clay mineral materials.Because it not only has easy availability of raw materials but also has good absorption,ion exchange and a series of valuable property, Pillared montmorillonite has become a rational choise of new catalyst materials.Al-Pillared Montmorillonite is a kind of new mineral materials of good adsorption properties, it has a large specific surface area, pore volume, pore size, adjustable high thermal stability, etc.In the catalyst and catalyst carrier, selective adsorption agent, environmental protection materials and other fields Al Pillared Montmorillonite shown broad application potential.This article means to purify montmorillonite ore through the filter, taking NaCl as sodium modification agent on the purified calcium montmorillonite ore by sodium, preparation of sodium montmorillonite.1. After the hydrolysis of AICl3, Al column for preparation of solution of liquid by ion exchange method, insertion of sodium base montmorillonite intercalation,Al-pillared montmorillonite was prepared. XRF test results show that, hydroxy aluminum ion and sodium montmorillonite in Mg2+, Ca2+and Na+ion exchange into the interlayer of montmorillonite.The d001of X-ray diffraction peaks increased from14.73A to17.68A. And the structure of pillared samples has no obvious change. Through the test of the N2-adsorption/desorption isotherms, we calculates the specific surface area and micropore surface area of the pillared samples, compared with that of Al pillared montmorillonite the specific surface area and micropore surface area increased exponentially, and the pore size decreased2. As the active center of catalytic oxidation reaction,Au or Pt were supported on the surface of Al pillared montmorillonite.XRD and TEM results show that Au or Pt mainly in the state of nanoparticle uniformly dispersed in Al pillared montmorillonite. Using XPS to characterize the valence states of Au on pillared montmorillonite.We find the load on the Al-pillared montmorillonite respectively exists in two states:metal state Au0and oxidation state Auδ3. The catalytic oxidation activity of CO of Al pillared montmorillonite were characterized, and the variation law of CO catalytic oxidation activity was studied.The results show the catalytic oxidation activity of Al pillared montmorillonite increases with the load of gold or platinum. But when it increases to a certain degree,It no longer continues along with the increase.
