Bromocresol green spectrophotometry was used to determine the adsorption equilibrium concentration of Cationic Gemini surfactant named C16-2-C16in this paper. Experimental result showed that, when pH value was aroud6.38, bromocresol green andC16-2-C16can form into ionic associate and the color of solution faded. The maximum of fading wavelength was366nm.Comparing C16-2-C16and common cationic surfactant named CTAB, systematic research law of adsorption of them on the surface of quartz sand, montmorillonite andkaolin. The adsorption isotherm of C16-2-C16and CTAB on the surface of quartz sandwas accorded with L-form, and so did the adsorption isotherm of C16-2-C16and CTAB on the surface of montmorillonite. While the dsorption isotherm of C16-2-C16andCTAB on the surface of kaolin was accorded with S-form. What’s more, no matterwhat the solid surface was, adsorbing capacity of C16-2-C16was always greater than the one of CTAB.Research the impact of external factors on law of adsorption of C16-2-C16such as temperature, pH value and NaCl concentration. Researches showed that, along with the increasing of NaCl concentration, the adsorbing capacity of C16-2-C16on differentsolid surface increased too;the situation was similar to pH value. When revising temperature, the adsorbing capacity of C16-2-C16showed a decreased tendency.Analyzed adsorption mechanism of C16-2-C16on different solid surface, and usedFourier infrared spectroscopy to prove the existence of adsorption. According to experimentaldata, make use of Freundlich-form, Langmuir-form and BET-form to matching all adsorptionisotherms.
