The short arc processing technology belongs to the field of special processingareas,it could efficient cutting conductive material of extra-hard, super-strength, hightoughness, high red hardness, high wear resistance, severe cold work hardening.Currently, the short arc processing technology has been widely used in metallurgy,machinery, aviation, aerospace, petroleum, chemical industry, and water conservancyand power generation industries. Although this technology has been applied inpractical production, short-arc discharge mechanism is still in continuous exploration.Relationship between processing efficiency and pulse discharge frequency and dutycycle, the surface of the material forming mechanism and arc discharge channelvoltage and current waveform variation are subject to further study. Today, themodulation of short arc machine pulse power mostly adopts SCR regulator mode. Onthe one hand, SCR power is difficult to achieve a pulse frequency, duty cyclecontinuously adjustable output, cannot meet the need of further short arc dischargecharacteristics; SCR power, on the other hand, there is a bulky, less efficientshortcomings, does not meet the development of efficient, energy-saving, portabledirection of the short arc machine tools. Therefore, this paper presents a new short arcmachine pulse power design to replace the traditional SCR voltage regulator powersupply to meet the new demand for the development of a short arc.This article has been designed for the main circuit and control circuit of the newshort-arc machine pulse power, the main circuit by the output stage rectifier and filtercircuit, DC/DC intermediate transform circuit and the after pulse generating circuitcomposition, Intermediate conversion circuit with phase-shifted full-bridge ZVSsoft-switching technology, together with the PID regulator voltage closed-loop control,after pulse circuit in parallel current chopping technique, pulse frequency, duty cycleadjustable output. Then, we modeled and simulated the main circuit and control circuit through MATLAB simulation software; the simulation results show that thedesign of pulse power is correct and feasible. Finally completed the PCB boardproduction of the control system and the drive system and finished the circuit boardtesting, the results are stable and reliable. Those works provided a reliable referencefor further study of pulse power.
