The method to improve the uniformity of ion exchange resin beads with styrene-divinylbenzene and a continuous suspension polymerization process were studied in this paper.The droplet size formed by vibrated jet dependeds on the amplitude,frequency of vibration and velocity of jet,which were discussed in water-kerosene system.Semi-automatic continuous suspension polymerization reactor with pre-dispersed vibration device was designed,and pilot production was carried out and the result of which shows the beads were uniform.The main works are summarized as follows:1.The liquid-liquid vibration dispersion device was designed,and this device is applicable to two liquids phase which were incompatible.2.Semi-automatic continuous suspension polymerization reactor with pre-dispersed vibration device was designed.Impeller shear stress was replaced by the cycle of water-phase to control the suspension status of monomer.3.The effect of pore size and flow rate on the droplet size were studied in non-vibration flow of liquid-liquid system.The results show that average droplet size increases with the increasing aperture,and the operating range of forming stable and uniform droplet become smaller when aperture become larger.Droplet size become smaller at first and larger later,when the velocity of flow increasing.4.The effect of amplitude,frequency and flow rate of vibration on jet breakup were studied in liquid-liquid system.The results show that the shaping process of droplet was influenced by amplitude which affects droplet diameter slightly;Droplet diameter decreases with increasing frequency;increases with increasing flow rate.5.The uniform polystyrene particles were achieved by the continuous suspension polymerization reactor.The results show that the yield of polystyrene particles reached to 94.5%.The content of beads of styrene-divinylbenzene with the diameter between 0.4-0.6mm reached to 88.19%,and the uniformity coefficient reached to 1.19,the distribution of diameter is narrower than that of the traditional process.
