With the rapid development of the city scale and increasing tightness ofland resources, it is imperative to expand underground space. As one of theimportant aspects of the use of underground space,the research to the stabilityof foundation pit has become a focus in the field of GeotechnicalEngineering.This paper discuss the phenomenon, mechanism, failure mode ofdeformation foundation pit, and problems in existing foundation pitdeformation theory, by summarising previous research results. Based on thebackground of a cable tunnel deep foundation pit project in Guangzhou,introduces the field monitoring program detailedly. Analyse the developmentalchanging rule of foundation pit deformation in the process of foundation pit excavation, by arranging the field monitoring data. Combined with the cabletunnel deep foundation pit project, utilize the FLAC-3D software of threedimensional finite difference to numerically simulate the working conditionsof foundation pit excavation and supporting, discuss the deformation and thestress distribution of soil and enclosure structure in different workingconditions. Compared with the field monitoring data, FLAC-3D shows wellsimulated in foundation pit step excavation and supporting condition, whichcalculation results can well reflect the deformation and stress distribution ofenclosure structure and soil in the process of foundation pit excavation, itprovide feasibility in numerical simulation of foundation pit. Aimed at stressand deformation characteristic of enclosure structure in cable tunnel deepfoundation pit project, simulate different pile length and internal bracingsystem, discuss the optimized design scheme to decrease foundation pitdeformation.
