Nowadays there are a variety of high speed vessels, and the new typeappears constantly. However, the basic situation is concerned that most of highspeed vessels with monohull are planing crafts and take their time on the surfaceof the water. They reduce resistance depending on less drainage by powersupport, however, when it comes to rough conditions, the instability of powersupport led to “a dolphin jump” which make sea keeping quality bad, it isacknowledged to be a fatal weakness.What is discussed in the dissertation is anew drainage vessel, Shuttle Vessel, reducing resistance without weakening seakeeping quality.As a high speed vessel, Shuttle Vessel has a slender ship hull and a sharpstem which pierce water rather than ride over them, the tumblehome freeboardgives the boat a low radar profile and reduces wake production, making the boathighly stealthy. Shuttle Vessel has good sea keeping quality and ease of transport.This paper focuses on the rapidity and sea keeping of Shuttle Vessel.Similar to other high speed vessels, for Shuttle Vessel, wave resistanceaccounts for a very big proportion of total resistance in high speed. Therefore, itis an indispensable necessity to take wave resistance into consideration.According to formed research, wave resistance is sensitive to hull form in someFroud, appropriate modification on body line can make the wave resistancedecrease. Thus, this paper optimized the ship form taking wave resistance as a goal.From the perspective of rapidity, the lines of stem and stern have anessential influence on ship resistance. Therefore, this paper starts with the bothrespectively, for stem line part, shape of entrance line, tilt Angle of stem anddraught are taken into consideration; for stern line part, it contains rat-tail andtransom two forms, and some factors are changed to make a comparison,analyze the influence on the wave resistance.Most of the time, the navigation is in waves, so it is necessary to considersea keeping quality in the design. Generally speaking, ships keeping a goodperformance in the static water are not necessarily good in the rough conditions.So seakeeping is one of the most important indicators to measure performance.That is the reason why we consider it after wave resistance.Oscillation of ship is the main content of seakeeping, it can bring manyother problems. So the evaluation of oscillation of ship is the most basic items.Among the oscillation, heave, pitch and roll are more significant. Therefore, inthis paper, after satisfying the stability, analyze the movement of heave, pitchand roll under different speed and wave circumstances, and conclude thecorresponding characteristics of Shuttle Vessels.
