Coal has been occupying a dominant position in energy structure in China, but ithas also brought certain pollution of burning coal. A long time, people always pay closeattention to the pollution of main elements in the coal and ignore the potential harm oftrace elements on the environment. The bromine of coal is such a kind of element,during combustion, it has a great mobility and seriously harmful to the environment.Researching bromine in coal, domestic scholars focus on content of bromine, almost noresearch on occurrence form of bromine. Only a minority of scholars to studyoccurrence problem abroad, but neither system nor further.Under this background, this paper is devoted to systematic study contentdistribution and occurrence form of bromine in the coal. In this paper, we use themethod of High Temperature Combustion Hydrolyzing-Bromide Ion Selective Electrodeinnovatively for determination bromine content of20provinces coal samples in China,according to comparative analysis of bromine content in different coal-forming period,coal type, provinces and coal mining, get that the cause of bromine enrichment inChinese coal. Use the Sink Float method and Washability Curve to analyze occurrenceof bromine, and combine with advanced thermodynamics software Thermo-Calc tophase diagram analysis of bromine element during coal combustion, get that therelationship of bromine and other components in coal, the basic occurrence form ofbromine, source and cause of formation bromine containing minerals and the influencefactors of bromine content distribution and occurrence form. Combining softwaresimulation with experiment, we achieve good results. The results have great significancefor industrial production and research.
