Anti-vacuum pump system generated in recent years is a new type of water supply equipment, which has the characteristics of water safety and sanitation, and energy efficiency significantly welcomed by the market. And it is widely used in a variety of water transmission project. Water hammer is an important factor affecting the safety of the water supply project, which may damage projects and bring economic losses. Be aimed at research on the water hammer protection properties of anti-vacuum pump system, this thesis conducts the modeling, calculation and analysis.The paper presents the numerical model of hydraulic transition process of conventional pump station start and accident stop, analyses the water hammer protection performance and deficiencies of the current limiting surge tower and researches the impact of the different surge tower parameters on the characteristics of the water hammer pressure. Discrete numerical model is introduced, and it is compared with conventional integrated numerical model, which verified the correctness of the discrete model. This paper takes modeling, calculation and analysis of the open pump speed control law on the characteristics of water hammer.Applying characteristics method based on the discrete model, numerical models of the hydraulic transition process of anti-vacuum pump system start and accident stop are established. This thesis takes an analysis of the water hammer pressure characteristics of the upstream pipe and downstream pipe of anti-vacuum pump system under the situations of pump start and accident stop, which is compared with the water hammer of conventional pump station. The results show that, anti-vacuum pump system has significant water hammer protection function. This paper analyses the influence of different inflow cavity and water supply cavity parameters on water hammer.
