Bridge instead of road is the most commonly way to build the modern high-speed rail, which makes the precast beam an indispensable part of it. These precast beams are usually prefabricated in the precast yard, so it is necessary to construct a large number of precast yards along the rail. Considering the need of large area and the temporary of precast yard, its rationalization of layout design plays a crucial role in the conservation of land resources. However, at this stage, the layout of mostly precast yards depend on our worker’s experience, lacking of scientific theoretical leads to many shortcomings in the high-speed rail construction project. Therefore, it is necessary to find a scientific theory and method to guide the planning and layout of precast yard, to achieve the optimal mix of resources and the best layout scheme. That is why this research topic is proposed.After studying the research of precast yard planning design and facility layout, this thesis firstly points out the two most important steps in the facility layout. which are the estimation of scale (area) and the resolution of layout scheme, and clears the relationship between them, also introduces the basic knowledge and method of facility scale and facility planning. Secondly, setting the estimation of scale (area) as the core, it discusses how to determine the scale of features area, especially the prefabricated area and the stored area. In this section, considering the scale of the prefabricated area and the stored area, the total number of beam, the duration of fabrication and erection, the fabrication cycle, the story cycle, the mold turnover cycle, the lead period of fabrication, and the rate of erection. Based on the inadequacies of the existed research, this article proposes a improved algorithm on the basis of the research of Fang Bihe. Thirdly, setting the resolution of layout scheme as the core, it makes a throughout research on the layout model and algorithm of the precast yard. In this section, the article summarizes the necessary of precast yard layout optimization. And considering the particularity of object, it establishes the rational layout model, and designs the hybrid algorithm of genetic algorithm and mountain climbing algorithm. Finally, it applies the results of this research to the precast yard of high-speed railway, using Matlab programming language to achieve the algorithm process and get the optimal results. It also makes a comparison between the optimized scheme and the original scheme, which verifies the practicality and effectiveness of the results of this research.
