Objective To evaluate the short-term efficacy of laparoscopic hepatectomy and openhepatectomy for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. And investigate the clinicalapplication of the LH. Methods From Jan.2006to Dec.2008,41patients underwentthe LH in our center.,Compare their clinical data, perioperative data, recovery status, with the OH group which is operated by the same surgeons with49patients. ResultsThe LH group had the advantages in shorter incision, less drainage cases with lessdays, more rapid recovery in liver function and less hospital stay(P<0.05).Moreover,members of the LH group had the earlier food restoration(P<0.05).Postoperativebody temperature、mean value of WBC、N%in LH group and OH group elevatedquickly, and the postoperative mean value of these markers was different compared tothat of the preoperative value, and the mean value in OH Was higher than that in LH(P<0.05).Postoperative AST and ALT significantly increased in the hepatic hilarocclusion compared with the non-occlusion group(P<0.05), no change was foundbetween two groups. The surgery costs were higher for LH than forOH(P<0.05).However,there were no significant difference of the total costs betweentwo groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The laparoscopic hepatectomy for HCC is providedwith less trauma, more rapid recovery and less hospital stay. So,it is recommended tobe applicated in the medical centers which is competent.
