| Objective To investigate the expression of HMGB1and MMP2in human renalclear cell carcinoma and its significance. Methods The two-step immunohistochemistry technique was used to discoverthe expression of HMGB1and MMP2in58cases of RCCC,30cases ofparacarcinoma tissues and18cases of normal renal tissues, and to study therelationship of their expression with clinicopathological characteristics. Of the58cases of RCCC,24were at well differentiation,16were at moderate differentiation,18were at poor differentiation according to the pathologic grading, there were13casesatâ… period,15cases at â…¡ period,21cases at â…¢ period,9cases at â…£ period accordingto the clinical stage. Results Positive expression rate of HMGB1in normal RCCC tissues, paracarcinoma tissues, normal renal tissues were22.2%ã€36.6%ã€82.7%(P<0.05),the trend has gradually increased (P<0.05).In RCCC,positive rate of HMGB1andMMP2protein’s expression at clinical stages Ⅲ~Ⅳperiod was higher than the I~IIperiod, lymph node metastasis group was higher than that without lymph nodemetastasis group, tumor diameter over5cm and involved necrosis groups were werehigher than tumor diameter low5cm and no involved necrosis groups on HMGB1.Expression of HMGB1in RCCC were not related with age, sex, the degree ofdifferentiation, the primary tumor site(P>0.05). Positive expression rate of MMP2in normal RCCC tissues, paracarcinoma tissues, normal renal tissues were16.6%ã€33.3%ã€79.3%,the trend has gradually increased (P<0.05).The poor differentiationwas higher than the moderate and well differentiation. Expression of MMP2in RCCCwere not related with age, sex, the primary tumor site, size of tumor, tumor necrosis(P>0.05).Conclusion1The expression of HMGB1and MMP2in RCCC was higher thanthat in paracarcinoma tissues and normal renal tissues. It suggested that expression of HMGB1and MMP2may play a role in the carcinogenesis of RCCC.2The expression of HMGB1was correlated with clinical stage, lymph node, size of tumor, tumor necrosis(P<0.05). Expression of HMGB1in RCCC were notrelated with age, sex, the degree of differentiation, the primary tumor site(P>0.05).It suggested that expression of HMGB1may associated with invasion and metastasisof RCCC.3The expression of MMP2was correlated with clinical stage, lymph node, degree of differentiation(P<0.05). Expression of MMP2in RCCC were not relatedwith age, sex, size of tumor, the primary tumor site tumor necrosis(P>0.05). Itsuggested that expression of MMP2may associated with invasion and metastasis ofRCCC.4In RCCC, expression of HMGB1had a positive significant correlation withexpression of MMP2. It suggested that they may play synergistic effect in thecarcinogenesis of RCCC. They may be used as important indexes to indicate theprognosis of RCCC. |
