In this study, we selected diverse herbs which released allergy and inflammation’ symptom, detected their depressant effect on mast cells’degranulation of the herbs’extracts, and screened a number of efficient herbs. They are Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome, Paeonia Veitchii, Japanese Honeysuckle Flower Bud, Baikal Skullcap Root, Bunge Pricklyath Pericarp, Argy Wormwood Leaf, Weeping Forsythia Fruit, Liquorice Root and Broom Cypress Fruit. Among these herbs, Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome is the most worth to be studied due to its efficient (the inhibition ratio is95.63%with the concentration of500μg/ml), and has not been reported. In this paper, we also described the dose-effect relationship of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome, Paeonia Veitchii, Japanese Honeysuckle Flower Bud and Liquorice Root. The data showed the IC50of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome, Paeonia Veitchii, Japanese Honeysuckle Flower Bud and Liquorice Root were62.5μg/ml,113.8μg/ml, l000μg/ml and1620.4μg/ml. The study of the subdivisions of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome, Bunge Pricklyath Pericarp and Paeonia Veitchii demonstrated the water extracted50%alcohol lotion and the alcohol extracted50%alcohol lotion were the efficient subdivisions of them. The data showed the inhibition ratios of the water extracted50%alcohol lotion and the alcohol extracted50%alcohol lotion of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome were60.99%and66.18%, of Bunge Pricklyath Pericarp were92.11%and94.44%, of Paeonia Veitchii were94.08%and99.81%.In this paper, the mechanism of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome’s depressant effect on mast cells’degranulation was investigated. The data showed that Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome water extracted50%alcohol lotion and alcohol extracted50%alcohol lotion inhibited the mast cells’degranulation not by decreased the activity of protein kinase C but by increased the activity of protein kinase A to a certain degree. It suggested that protein kinase A is one of the target point in the mechanism of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome’s depressant effect on mast cells’degranulation.
