Objective:To measure and investigate the key morphological features of pulp cavity and the canal morphology of maxillary second premolar of han-nationality in shangdong region by using cone beam computered tomography(CBCT) and provide anatomic data and therapy basis for clinical treatment education and scientific research in deppartment of stomatology. Methods:ninety freshly extracted second permanent premolars of han-nationality of shandong province were collected and grouped by age for 3 groups and scanned by CBCT.1、With the adjusting fuction of the Romexis measuring software,we measure the key morphological features of the pulp cavity of the three groups, including buccal-lingal pulp chamber width at the cervix;buccal cusp to buccal pulp horns, olingal cusp to olingal pulp horns, cusp to pulp chamber ceiling, cusp to pulp chamber floor,F:pulp chamber height,G:pulp chamber ceiling to furcation,H:pulp chamber floor to furcation..2、With the adjusting fuction of the Romexis measuring software, we obseved the root canal morphology of the teeth, and the maxillary second premolars were categorized using the vetucci’s classification.Results:1、Anatomic features of pulp cavity and canal morphology data of the permanet second premolars of han-nationality in shandong province were obtained.2.The result of A group were:buccal-lingal pulp chamber width at the cervix:4.37mm; B: buccal cusp to buccal pulp horns:3.97mm; C:lingal cusp to lingal pulp horns: 4.01mm; D:cusp to pulp chamber ceiling:7.02mm; E:cusp to pulp chamber floor: 11.02mm; F:pulp chamber height:3.02mm; G:pulp chamber ceiling to furcation: 8.35mm; H:pulp chamber floor to furcation:5.75mm. The result of B group were:buccal-lingal pulp of chamber width at the cervix:4.26mm; B:buccal cusp to buccal pulp horns:4.38mm; C:olingal cusp to olingal pulp horns:4.32mm; D:cusp to pulp chamber ceiling:7.23mm; E:cusp to pulp chamber floor:10.82mm; F:pulp chamber height:2.71mm; The result of B group were:buccal-lingal pulp chamber width at the cervix:4.02mm; B:buccal cusp to buccal pulp horns:4.58mm; C:lingal cusp to lingal pulp horns:4.67mm; D:cusp to pulp chamber ceiling:7.56mm; E: cusp to pulp chamber floor:10.54mm; F:pulp chamber height:2.36mm; G:pulp chamber ceiling to furcation:7.35mm; H:pulp chamber floor to furcation:5.35mm. 2、The frequency of single root canal is 59.9%,the frequency of two root canal is 41.1%.the root canal morphology of maxillary second premolar showed great variance. The main types were typeⅠand typeⅡ。Conclusion:1、The key morphological feature of pulp cavity are different in different ages.the pulp chamber height shows the great diffrence.2、The root canal morphology of han-nationality of shangdong province were received. And the teeth have a high ratio of type I and type II.3、This study provide the basis data for research and clinical work.
