BackgroundWith the development of society and medical technology, people attach so much importance to their healthy that more and more patients with SPN was diagnosed.Differential diagnosis of benign or malignant SPN was very important for clinical surgeon to select treatment strategy. However, single diagnostic method can merely provide enough accuracy for discriminating SPN through analyze the clinical pathological factors related with the benign or malignant of SPN.ObjectiveTo study and analyze clinicopathological factors among one hundred and twenty patients with SPN.To find out correlative factor affecting diagnosis of SPN.Materials and MethodsThe clinical pathological data of120patients with SPN who have undergone pulmonary lobectomy in the cardiothoracic surgery branch of the first affiliated hospital of GuangXi medical university was analyzed retrospectively from Mar.2008to Feb.201. First of all, the associations between the character of SPN and clinicopathological factors were evaluated by univariate analysis (chi-square test). Secondly, the associations between charater of SPN and the univariate analysis significant(p<0.05) clinicothological factors were evaluated by logistic multiple regression analysis.ResultUnivariate analysis showed that gender, clinical symptom, and nodule location was not related with the benign or malignant of SPN statistically, but age, smoking history, imaging signs and nodule size was related with the benign or malignat charater of SPN. Constituent ratio of benign or malignant charater was21.4%and7.8%in the patients under40years old respectively. The ratio was78.6%and92.2%in the patients over40years old respectively, respectively, with signifcant difference in the benign or malignant of SPN (P<0.05), age was more older, the malignant of SPN was a more possibility. SPN benign or malignant constituent ration was39.3%,79.3%in the patients of malignant imaging show, SPN benign or malignant constituent ration was60.7%,20.3%,in the patients of benign imaging show, respectively, with significant difference in the benign or malignant of SPN(p<0.05), malignant imaging show was more obviously, the malignant of SPN was a more possibility. Logistic multivariate regression analysis showed age and imaging show were significantly related with SPN benign or malignant.ConclusionAge and imaging signs are important risk factors for SPN benign or malignant.
