Rabdosia excisa (Maxim.) Kudo, which had been proved had the anti-tumor activity, is a plant of the Labiatae. It is not only widely used in the folk, but also has been developed into all sorts of health care, medical products to enter the market. There are about150species are widely distributed in the world, the latest survey claimed that about115species were found in China, including25varieties. Rabdosia excisia (Maxim.) kudo is a perennial plant, its root is semi-lignified. It is widely distributed in China, it could be found in many places. It mainly distributed in Jilin province, Liaoning province and other northeast areas, as well as the Henan province. While in the foreign countries, it mainly distributed in the far areas of Asia, such as, Japan, North Korea and Russia. It has been more than100years since the Japanese researchers studied the chemical constituents of the Rabdosia species. Due to the chemical constituents of ent-Kaurane had been proved to be of the anti-tumor activity, more and more researchers in the world began to pay much attention to this specie. The main purpose of this thesis is to find a complete, economic, and practical set about the extraction, isolation, purification and structure identification of natural products. Based on this condition, we aim to finger out the chemical constituents of flowers and fruits of Rabdosia excisa, explore new leading compounds of anti-humor activity,and provided the reliable reference data for the later researchers.Medicinal plant Rabdosia excisa was widely used in folk as the treatment of red swollen and ulcer when it was used in the outer, while used in the inner, it was used to cure the sore throat, cteric model hepatitis and other symptoms. The pharmacology study of Rabdosia excisa involved almost every systerm of the body. The study of biological activity showed that it had the effect of anti-tumor, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory. It also can affect the people embryo cells in the brain infection of herpes simplex cytotoxic change, the inhibition liver cancer cell proliferation, influence prostate cancer cell cycle, affect the immune function, improve the myocardial blood flow, resistance of lipid peroxidation damage, etc. Due to the different parts of Rabdosia excisa in the different region, different time will produce different secondary metabolites, we collected the flower and fruits of Rabdosia excisa in August2010in Henan province and study the chemical composition. Dried flowers and fruits of Rabdosia excisa shattered, the portion was extracted by ethyl ether, decolored by the activated carbon, the ethyl ether portion was isolated and purified by column chromato-graphy, including silica gel and recrystallization, etc. Seventeen compounds were obtained, including ten diterpenoids, five triterpenoids and two steroids from the ethyl ether soluble portion. These compounds were identified by modern spectroscopic technology, such as1H-NMR13C-NMR, MS, IR, etc. They were respectively elucidated as:the Epinodosin (Ⅰ); Lasiokaourin (Ⅱ); Kamebacetal A (Ⅲ); Epinodosinol (Ⅳ); Ursolic acid (Ⅴ); Oridonin (Ⅵ); β-sitosterol (Ⅶ);2α-Hydroxy-ursolic acid (Ⅷ); maslinic acid (Ⅸ); Rabdesinate (Ⅹ); Maoyecrystal E (Ⅺ); Enmenol-glucoside (Ⅻ); macrocalyxin G(ⅩⅢ),; Rabdosichuanin C (ⅩⅣ); Hyptadienic acid (ⅩⅤ);2α,3α,19-Trihydroxyur s-12-en-28-oic acid (ⅩⅥ); daucosterol (ⅩⅦ).The compounds Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅳ, Ⅷ, Ⅸ, Ⅹ, Ⅺ, Ⅻ, ⅩⅢ, ⅩⅣ, ⅩⅤ, ⅩⅥ were found in Rabdosia excisa for the first time.This paper has four chapters. The first one is a introduction about current research status of Rabdosia species, summarized the pharmacognosy characteristic of Rabdosia excisa, the origin of the distribution center and the chemical components and pharmacological effects of Rabdosia species in recent40years. The second chapter summaried the characteristics of Rabdosia excisa mainly through accessing to the domestic and foreign literatures. It also included the previous researches about the chemical constituents and biological activity of Rabdosia. The third chapter showed the procedures of extraction and purification of ethyl ether soluble portion. The fourth chapter gave the spectral data (1H-NMR、13C-NMR、IR、MS)and elucidated the structures of the seventeen compounds.
