ObjectHashimoto’s thyroiditis is a kind of Autoimmune thyroiditis. The disease will become a natural progression to hypothyroidism. It has gradually importance for the people. Therefore, early diagnosis of the disease is significance for therapeutic and prognosis.Western medicine thinks that this disease is in the control of its response to T, B cells and the of immunological process by thyroid cells. Its clinical manifestations can be many kinds, like thyroid enlargement, or abnormal thyroid function, especially in primary hypothyroidism. The treatment of Western medicine at present is mainly adopts the thyroid hormone replacement therapy, immunotherapy, operation treatment. These methods have certain effect, but its limitations and side effects are larger. This disease is belong to the Chinese Medicine "Ying Bing". The treatment of Chinese Medicine is mainly to regulate the internal organs function and enhance the immune function of organism. The therapeutic have obvious advantages in effects and safety. Chinese Medicine for this disease have made some achievements, there are also some problems. For example, When the doctors in the treatment based on syndrome differentiation on the diseases, they would divergence to typing, staging and prescription. Many clinical treatment case are small samples, is not conducive to the assessment of the disease and treatment method. It is increased the difficulty in the development of treatment and the treatment of integration by Chinese Medicine.PurposeWe has used epidemiologic methods to collect Hashimoto’s thyroiditis syndrome of traditional Chinese Medicine information. We want to explore the characteristics of Chinese Medicine syndrome, type and syndrome type distribution. It provide valuable reference for the Chinese Medicine clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment. At the same time, study of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis related index changes and Chinese syndrome type distribution of contact, for guiding the clinical selection more objective index to evaluate the therapeutic effect of Chinese Medicine.MethodsThis study used a cross-sectional, prospective survey research method, after investigation through the literature, to establishment of Chinese Medicine information collection table by Hashimoto’s thyroiditis clinical characteristics and associated symptoms. According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, in2011March-2012March in Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital outpatient or hospitalization in patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. The case related information to fill out a Hashimoto’s thyroiditis Chinese Medicine information collection table. Construction of the Chinese Medicine Syndrome Types and information database, and extraction of the syndrome elements and statistical analysis. The main statistical methods included descriptive information analysis, cluster analysis and Logistic Regression analysis.ResultsAfter analysis238cases of patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, its main symptoms are in front of the neck gall swelling, lassitude, insomnia and in the pharyngeal foreign body sensation.By this syndrome factors for clustering analysis, there are4groups of syndromes. They are Qi stagnation and blood stasis, fire depression; Irascibility exuberant, fiery Yin; Gas cloudy two empty, phlegm and blood stasis; Spleen kidney yang deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis. It is preliminary formed the Hashimoto’s thyroiditis syndromes.Concl us ionThere are4groups of syndromes in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. They are Qi stagnation and blood stasis, fire depression; Irascibility exuberant, fiery Yin; Gas cloudy two empty, phlegm and blood stasis; Spleen kidney yang deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis. In these four types of the syndromes, only Spleen kidney yang deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis has no hyperthyroidism cases. In the analysis of traditional Chinese medical syndromes and clinical objective index of Logistic regression., if thyroid blood flow is more sparse, it would have more risk to become Qi stagnation and blood stasis, fire depression or Gas cloudy two empty, phlegm and blood stasis. If the patient has a lower power TSH, it would have more risk to become Irascibility exuberant, fiery Yin. If the patient has a higher power TSH, it would have more risk to become Spleen kidney yang deficiency, phlegm and blood stasis. It is preliminary formed the Hashimoto’s thyroiditis syndromes, for the clinical diagnosis and treatment provide a basis. At the same time, the study on standardization of TCM syndrome made beneficial attempt.
