The Relationship Between Mandibular Wisdom Teeth And Temporomandibular Joint Structure Disorders

ObjectiveStudy on the relationship between mandibular forward wisdom teeth and temporomandibularstructure disorders by objective indicators. Compare the differences of manual measurement andsoftware measurement and evaluat the credibility and validity of dentural defect model bywinceph8.0software measurement.MethodsSelected qualified40senior undergraduate persons in shanxi medical university in2010-2011,taking fabrication plaster cast for oneself matched pair study. Jaw forward wisdom withing thetemporomandibular joints click side for the test group, jaw wisdom congenital lack without anaccompanying temporomandibular joints click side as control group. Measured the verticaldistances between the tip of the tooth and occlusal plane of the40mandible model bilateral speecurve by manual measurement and software measurement，and recorded the experimental results.Assess the reliability and validity of winceph8.0software by correlation coefficient.Results(1) Compare with the control group，the vertical distance of the near buccal cusp of the secondmolar to the occlusal plane have obvious statistical differences(p <0.01); the vertical distance ofthe near buccal cusp of the first molar to the occlusal plane have statistical differences (p <0.05);(2) The most deeppest place of two sides of spee curve are located in the first molar near buccalcusp, but spee curve depth have statistical significance (p <0.05);(3)The results of the samesites measuring by two methords have no statistical significance;(4) There are higherprobabilistic dependencies by Winceph8.0measuring software repeated measurement the samesites of jaws fabrication plaster model; the correlation coefficient of software measurement andmanual measurement is higher.Conclusions(1)There are associated with the jaw forward wisdom and temporomandibular structure disorders,and occlusal factor played an important role;(2) Winceph8.0measuring software has higherreliability and validity in measuring dentural defect model, its reliability and accuracy is high,and it is suitable for clinical application and scientific research.
