Neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus (NSLE) is a complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) involving the central nervous system. That is one of the leading cause of death for lupus crisis. We reported a case of25-year-old patient with SLE, who presented high fever, persistent headache, joint pain, neck resistance, and positive Oppenheim’s sign of the left lower extremity in course of the disease. Blood cell count showed neutrophilia, examination of CSF revealed increased WBC. Her estimation of SLEDAI is up to22points. The patient received Methylprednisolone60mg/d plus a course of five days of IVIG15g/d intravenously. After one day of these treatment, her dangerous condition got significant improvement, supporting that IVIG could play a crucial role in the treatment of neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus.
