Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors all over the world. Itsincidence is in the second place, but the mortality continues to be the highest in variousmalignant tumors. Dispite improvement in the comprehensive therapy of gastric cancer, thepostoperative survival rate is still on a high level. The five-year survival rate varies amomgdifferent tumor stages. In early gastric cancer the rate can reach nearly90%, higher than inadvanced about40%. Therefor, diagnosis and treatment in early stage may increase the total5-year survival rate. It’s known that promotion of gastric cancer is due to gene mutation, surrounding and other factors. Numbers of biological molecules and signal transductionpathways may contribute to the development of gastric cancer. Thus, it’s essential to doresearches in gastric cancer on the level of molecule biology, especially in early gastriccancer.CDC25phosphatases are promoters of cyclin-dependent kinase, which function as keyregulators of the cell cycle during normal eukaryotic cell division and as mediators of thecheckpoint response in cells with DNA damage. The human CDC25s comprise a multigenefamily, including CDC25A, CDC25B and CDC25C, that are responsible for thedephosphorylation of pThr14and pTyr15and trigger the activation of the Cdk/cyclincomplexes. CDC25B seems to be the mitotic starter phosphatase, regulating G2/M transitionthrough their activity on CDK/cyclin. Therefor CDC25B may play an important role incarcinogenesis and many tumors such as esophageal, gasritc, thyroid, lung and head andncek cancers show overexpression of CDC25B. In recent researches, the expression isrelated to the grade of differentiation of the tumors, the lymph notes metastasis and even theprognosis. Objective: To research the relations between CDC25B in human early gastric cancerand clinical pathological features. Methods: Tissue samples for immunohistochemical analysis were collected frompatient data library who underwent gastric cancer surgery and were confirmed to the earlygastric cancers. The study are consisted of86patients and20gastric ulcer tissues. Theexpression of CDC25B protein in gastric carcinoma was assessed to evaluate the relationshipbetween the different groups. Results: The positive expression rate of CDC25B protein was significantly higher in early gastric cancer than in gastric ulcer (P<0.05), especially higher in early gastric cancerwith poor differentiation of the tumors and the lymph notes metastasis.Conclution:(1) The positive expression rate of CDC25B was significantly higher inearly gastric cancer than in gastric ulcer tissues.(2) The expression of CDC25B protein was negatively correlated to differentiation ofthe tumors and the lymph notes metastasis.
